Great Persian restaurant in SD. Food and service were top notch. We had zereshk polo and albaloo polo with chicken and loved both of them.

I had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant on two separate occasions, and unfortunately, both visits were marred by significant issues. During my initial experience, I observed that the owner lacked a nuanced understanding of running a successful establishment. His demeanor was loud and authoritative, and to exacerbate matters, the side dish bread arrived 15 minutes after the main course. The overall food quality left much to be desired, although I held onto hope that improvements would be made in the future. FOOD AND SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!Unfortunately, my second visit to the restaurant was particularly disheartening. It coincided with a somber occasion, as my friend had recently lost his young son and intended to host around 50 people for a post-funeral meal and desserts. Despite my prior warning about the restaurant's poor food and service based on my recent dining experience, he chose it due to its proximity to his son's graveyard.Shockingly, the owner exploited the situation by consistently overcharging, particularly for the most expensive menu item. He also engaged in contentious discussions over various elements, such as flowers, food selection, seating arrangements, and even traditional desserts meant for the funeral that my friend was trying to provide! On the day of the funeral, the service was painfully slow, and when the food finally arrived, it was both cold and below the expected standard. Despite my friend acquiescing to all imposed conditions, he paid an exorbitant amount out of respect for his deceased son. It was disheartening to discover that post-event, the restaurant owner unjustly billed my friend for five additional people, despite ample leftover food that could have been donated to charity. My friend confided that the loss of his son was an already challenging experience, and the actions of the restaurant owner only compounded the difficulty. Since then, I've made it a point to inquire about others' experiences at this restaurant, and consistently, I have yet to encounter anyone satisfied with the food or service. It appears that the owner adeptly addresses negative reviews, yet the fundamental issues persist, casting a shadow over the establishment's reputation.

Great service by young man named Rasam he was very nice and cute. But the young man needs to invest in some deodorant, every time he walked by he smelled like sweaty wet dog. Overall the food was great and i felt welcomed.

Great Persian cuisine at a gourmet level of quality. It is situated in an unconvincing strip mall but I was pleasantly surprised with the experience I received. We had the Soltani and Chicken kebabs and the flavor was phenomenal. So do just give this place a try I was not expecting a place like this to be in Rancho Bernardo!

bad unfortunately in every aspect, including service, morals, and food. I’ve not enjoyed the food here at all, as a Persian, maybe it’s okay for an unfamiliar palette. The owner will also participate in unfair charging practices: bringing down the reputation of our community! Also can say it is especially poor for large reservations and events—you are warned!

The restaurant is overpriced, with poor-quality chicken kababs and overly spiced food that tastes bad. While the kobideh kabab is acceptable, the salad was a disaster. Not worth the cost.

I had heard about Shiraz and finally had an opportunity to visit. The place looked with an interesting mix of east/west decor. Tables were nicely arranged and had tastefully set up. I ordered a Koobideh Kebob, a Diet Coke, Maust Khiar (an appetizer, very tasty), ice cream and Sho’leh Zard ( Zafron rice pudding, this one was to take home). The menu prices are somewhat higher than most Persian places I have been too, and I thought it must be for higher quality ingredients. The Mayst Khiar was fantastic! The Kebob disk looked beautiful but tasted on the average side largely due to the gamey taste of the meat. Persian ice cream was great and sever (Saeed) was attentive. Then came the check! Nothing on my check matched what I had seen on the menu!! I paid the bill and made a point to check online later. Also when I opened the Zafron rice pudding ( Shole Zard) it was all moldy and old which went straight into garbage.Later I checked online and every single item’s price was higher than what is stated on the menu. I did take screenshots just to back up my claim. In the end, I agree with a prior reviewer that if the goal was to get a onetime patron, the succeeded. If you go there, remember to ask for a menu and verify the check.

I have never seen Shandiz offered at any Persian restaurant in San Diego. This restaurant is the best. Great food, friendly service, and a complimentary belly dance show on Saturdays. The ingredients are carefully selected and masterfully cooked. Five stars all the way.

It is a hidden jewel. Music and belly dance and amazing food. And the food is the best if the owner knows how to cook as divinity commands.

Shiraz is one of my new favorite Persian restaurants in San Diego. The quality of Persian food in San Diego has been slowly decreasing so being able to have a restaurant that remains authentic is quite nice. We are good friends with the owners, but they are nice and friendly to everyone. I would definitely recommend trying the mast moosir as an appetizer. The homemade doogh is also quite refreshing. My favorite dish to get is the koobideh kabob which is made using lamb and is always super juicy. Love this place overall. Would recommend to anyone.

The Barg has the wrong meat, kobedeh is chewy, but they have a good chicken kebab The space is nice and clean,I believe for the quality, the food was definitely overpriced! and they nickel and dime you with the bottled water from Costco.

I’ve never had Persian food before, so I thought I’d give it a try. The food was excellent. Fillet Mignon was tender and delicious. The gentleman that was my waiter (I assume owner as well) was very friendly and professional. I’ll definitely be going back.

Best Persian food I’ve ever had! We were a party of four and opted for a family style platter. I wish I could recall what all of the items were called! I thought I disliked lamb, but Shiraz Cuisine certainly does it all so well. The service was quite hospitable and the atmosphere was relaxing. I was informed that they even have live music on Saturday evenings! I will definitely return. Thank you for the great experience!

It was the first time I went there.the place is very cool and also the staff were quite friendly . I got bakhtiari & soltani. Bakhtiari was great and juicy specially tha lamb , koobide was very good and delicious. Obviously all kebab’s quality was good and The only reason that I gave them 4 star was barg kabab which it wasn’t marinated so well . Overall, I think Shiraz restaurant is definitely better than other Persian restaurants in San Diego county.

Shiraz Fine Persian Cuisine 3/5Food: 3/5Service and Setting: NAValue: 2/5I am always on the lookout for great koobideh and I always feel like my area does not have as good quality or selection in comparison to somewhere like Irvine with a sizable Persian population. I had some credits that I needed to use and Shiraz Fine Version Cuisine was the first restaurant to pop up when I searched for Persian food on a delivery app. The prices are a bit high, but with inflation and delivery company fees, I understand to an extent. My food was well packaged and arrived safely haha.Rice: 2/5This is the first time I’ve ever had soggy basmati rice, but the overall flavor was good. The rice had a good fragrance and was seasoned well with salt. I bet it would be less soggy if eaten at the restaurant.Koobideh Kebab: 3.5/5I love me a good koobideh and there was a lot good going on here. Many places tend to serve very dense and dry beef kebabs and this was surely the opposite. Moist, a slight spring to the chew, and a light onion taste in the background, the kebabs here were excellent in terms of texture. However, I found the meat itself to be very weak in terms of the beef flavor and overall the dish had a slight gamey lamb smell. They did not describe the dish as mixed meat which makes me a little more concerned. The kebabs were a little skinny for the price but nothing too dramatic.Maust’ Moosier: 3.5/5I love eating this as a condiment with my kebabs and rice. I was a little sad that this and the kebab did not come with any bread. Overall, the flavor is simple with thick sour yogurt and finely minced shallots. A great way to add another dimension of flavor to your plate.
